Municipal water in street drains: Bio-filter dissolves odors

Water is rightly the focus when it comes to environmental protection. But what if the dirt in the sewer does not pose a discharge problem, but smells bad? For this, there are road drain filters from “coalsi” that work with an organic trick.

They are inserted into the road drain channel below the cover. There, they work against odorous gases that escape from the channel to the outside. The surface water can flow off unhindered and the absorption capacity of the channel remains unaffected.

The diffusion-resistant plastic insert includes a three-stage filter module. It not only retains typical odour generators such as hydrogen sulphide and ammonia, but also eliminates them. This is ensured by a culture of “odor-eating” microorganisms, which is incorporated into the biological filter stage. The remainder is filtered out mechanically and chemically via activated carbon. In the ICT filter test, the system came out as the overall winner.

For good sealing, there are several variants for all common side drains in mixed and separating water systems. These also exist specifically for systems without black, grey and rainwater separation. Installation is done almost in the blink of an eye without tools. The long service life of the replaceable filter module of up to three years, depending on the load, should be emphasized. In addition, no rewatering is required, even during a longer dry season. The effectiveness persists regardless of the seasons. The filter is neither human, plant nor animal pathogens and is therefore harmless to health.
